As a superior raw material for ceramics, talc powder greatly enhances the plasticity and moldability of ceramic body mud, effectively prevent cracking and deformation, stabilize firing performance and reduce defective product rate.
It can lower ceramic firing temperature to cut energy consumption and production cost. Meanwhile, it improves body density, endows finished ceramics with fine texture, pure white color and smooth surface finish.
Application
1. Automotive Ceramic Products
As a key raw material for cordierite honeycomb ceramics, talc plays a catalytic role in automobile exhaust particulate filtration. During honeycomb ceramic production, the maximum particle size of talc must be smaller than the wall thickness of honeycomb ceramics. High-purity talc with lamellar structure is ideal for manufacturing automotive exhaust emission control components.
2. Glazed Floor Tiles
Smooth SC series talc enhances the mechanical properties of floor tiles. When blended with feldspar in tile bodies, talc forms flux which serves two purposes:
(1) Reduce firing temperature
(2) Shorten firing cycle
3. Sanitary Ware
Smooth SC series talc improves both mechanical performance and visual appearance of sanitary wares and ceramic glazes. Low-iron Aihai talc applied in glaze materials brings multiple advantages:
(1) Improve whiteness
(2) Optimize glaze surface quality
(3) Boost glossiness
(4) Minimize pinholes and pores
